KUALA LUMPUR, March 9 – The Institute for Mathematical Research (INSPEM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), in collaboration with the Police Women Development Management Committee in Bukit Aman (JPPPW), has organised the Mind Transformation Workshop in Career Management at Bukit Aman.

The programme aims to provide exposure and knowledge to female police officers in managing stress in everyday life as frontliners.

It was inaugurated by YDH CP Dato' Dr. Lee Bee Phang, who is also the JPPPW Chairman. He was accompanied by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Lee Lai Soon, Head of the KTGSJINM @ PTJ Grant Project.

The programme was one of the collaborations offered by INSPEM, UPM in which the idea came from the JPPPW chairman who offers a cooperation network between UPM and PDRM under the KTGS JINM @ PTJ grant.

The programme speaker was a senior psychologist from UPM Teaching Hospital (HPUPM), Rafidah Sadarudin.

The participants were divided into two target groups. Session 1 consisted of senior police officers, and session 2, on the other hand, consisted of junior female police officers.

A total of 55 participants (29 senior officers and 26 junior officers) from the Integrity and Standard Compliance Department (JIPS), KPN Secretariat (Research & Development), as well as the Contingent from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, and Negeri Sembilan had participated in the programme.

The programme was a JPPPW effort to assist female police officers in managing stress while navigating through their policing duties and everyday lives. The focus of the programme was to reduce frustration and mental stress if they failed to achieve desired outcomes.

The programme went well and achieved its objectives. The participants provided positive feedback, and they are aware of the need to accept changes in the new norm as frontliners.
